Picasso's Story
Picture
Hola! It's me, Picasso. They used to call me Patucco. This is the story of my journey from my humble beginning in Spain to some new place they call a loving forever home.

Me in Spain – when I arrived at Scooby. I was living in Paddock 4B with some other nice pups.
Picture
The nice people at Scooby told me that I was handsome and deserved to have a loving family.

One of my friends.

Hanging with my crew at Scooby.

Wow! That is a strange feeling! They told me that I was in something called an airplane flying through the sky. I don't believe it but this is supposed to be a picture of me flying.
Picture
I have arrived in Chicago with these girls. It was a very long flight. Glad to be on the ground and out of the crate!
Picture
You can see that they were worried about me so I got TWO collars plus a harness. A little overkill but whatever.

After a long time in a car, we stopped for a potty break. It was night time. I don't know where we were.

First stop. Boy, dog butts in this place smell different!

I peed on the chair and got my first “gift” in US. Also, a toy. Thanks Aunt Lisa!

OK, this is not tiled like my paddock, but its OK. Its soft and cozy. Nappy time.

A new American friend.
Picture
Pardon me, but they told me it was going to be a long ride.
Picture
Thanks so much for taking care of me! I'm off again!
Picture
What the heck? Another car....?
Picture
I don't know what this is but they said it's The Immigrant Song so it's about me.
Picture
I see Greyhounds...! Me at the Greyhound Track Bluffs Run in Council Bluff, Iowa. No, we didn’t have time to visit.
Picture
Really? Another car. At least I can see this time. Hey, what ya doing up there?
Picture
More new friends. At least these are hounds. I kinda like them.

Drum roll please....

Momma?

Momma?

Hi Momma!  I'm home!

Postscript....

Picture
I've been in my forever home for 3 months and it has been quite an experience.

I live in a place called Denver with my new big brother and mom. Things are very different here so I have to check everything out. I've eaten some things I shouldn't have and peed indoors a couple times but I'm learning. Most days we go for lots of walks and I get to run around a baseball diamond. I'm really enjoying all the food and treats I get and I even get to sleep on the bed! As you can see from the picture, sometimes I use my new brother Tillman as my pillow.

I'm still a little nervous around new people but I know my mom will protect me - she kisses me about a million times a day and calls me her "little man". Oh, yeah, and she changed my name to Picasso.

I feel very lucky to be here and want to thank everyone who helped in my amazing journey!
Picasso's journey was documented by Susan Ligotti in the summer of 2014, with post script added by his adoptive mom.  If your Scooby dog would like to tell his/her story, please send as simple text with photos in a MS Word document to sharon@scoobynorthamerica.org and I will get it posted here.  We really love to hear "where are they now" stories for the dogs we have helped to rescue!
