Be A Hero
This is a special program that benefits dogs fostered and adopted in North America. We fly pre-adopted and foster dogs as "pet-in-hold" on commercial flights that must be accompanied by a human traveler. The adoptive families pay for the pet fare, but we cover the cost of the human escorts. Since the escorts are already volunteering their valuable time, it's hard to ask them to also pay $1000 - $2000 for their round trip fare. Many of our escorts fly to Madrid for the sole purpose of getting dogs for us and don't spend any time relaxing or sight-seeing. This program pays for our dedicated volunteer escorts to fly and bring our pups home. You can be a very special hero by contributing to this program to help bring some lucky dogs to their forever homes! We raised $2300 for this program in 2014. Can you help us raise $5000 in 2016 so that we can better afford to bring dogs home? (Foreign currencies sent through Paypal are automatically converted to USD for our record keeping.) |

Galgo Cares
Our Galgo Cares program is an fundraising program for dog emergencies that we need help with. The funds from this program can be used for expenses related to search and capture of a lost Scooby dog or emergency vet care for Scooby adopters. While adopters know they are responsible for all care for their Scooby dogs, we realize that sometimes emergency care just balloons out of control. We never want to lose our dogs for financial reasons, so this program will help selected adopters pay for some of their urgent veterinary expenses. Click on the heart to help us recapture our lost pups or to support your fellow adopters. |

Green Meadows
The Scooby shelter is in a rather arid location in the north of Spain. During the dry summer months, irrigation is needed to keep the pastures green in order to help feed the cattle, horses, goats and other grass-eating residents. Irrigating the pastures not only increases the water bill but also costs a lot in terms of electricity to keep the pumps running. Scooby also sometimes needs to buy hay and grain to supplement truckloads of carrots and hay that are donated by the nearby local businesses to feed the animals during the winter. If you love grazing animals, this is your chance to help them out! Helping our grazers is especially critical, since they tend not to be adoptable and so are considered lifelong residents of Scooby. Help us keep them happy and healthy for their entire lives! This is a new program that we have just started, so we don't have a track record for it. Can you help us get this program off to a great start this year? We would like to start off with a conservative goal of $5000 in 2016. (Foreign currencies sent through Paypal are automatically converted to USD for our record keeping.) |
Scooby 3000 The local community in Spain used to contribute financially to the Scooby shelter, but in 2011 due to harsh economic times, that support came to an end. The sudden loss of 3000 Euros/month was a huge blow to Scooby. Our Scooby 3000 program aims to replace that income as best we can. This program helps to pay for electricity, building maintenance, staff salaries, and any other ongoing routine needs of the shelter. After all, without power, buildings and the dedicated staff, there won't be a Scooby shelter! This program raised just under $330/month USD in 2013 and $380/month USD in 2014 so as you can see we have a ways to go to reach our goal! Can you help us double this program's revenue in 2016? (Foreign currencies sent through Paypal are automatically converted to USD for our record keeping.) Since this program pays for ongoing support, it is set up as a subscription program. Sign up to donate on a routine basis however much you can afford. Scooby North America has the flexibility to invoice you monthly or yearly on the date you choose. You can pay by check or PayPal, and we can also set up a monthly system that automatically deducts the funds from your account if you prefer that. To sign up for the subscription terms that you prefer, email info@scoobynorthamerica.org. |

Phoenix Program
Over the last few years Scooby has taken ownership of several facilities around northern Spain. Two of the facilities were former perreras, otherwise known as killing stations (Zamora and Palencia), and one was a former boarding kennel (the Residencia in Valladolid). The former perreras are not killing stations under Scooby's management but are now genuine rescue shelters. We include the Residencia in this program even though it was not a perrera because it's a great example of how Scooby is capable of cleaning up and successfully operating subsidiary facilities. You can click on the facility names above to see photographs and learn more about each one. A phoenix is a birdlike creature from Greek mythology. When the phoenix died, it was reborn from the ashes of it's former self. Like the phoenix, Scooby rebuilds these old facilities from places of death and sorrow into new places full of life and new beginnings. Since this is a brand new program, we need time to analyze what a reasonable financial goal should be, so we have set it very low to start with. Can you help us raise $3000 in 2016? Program Announcement! Thank you to all of you lovely supporters who have succeeded in exploding our little thermometer! We're doing a happy dance! Don't let that stop you, though. While we go out and buy a new thermometer, you are very welcome to keep donating, or donate to one of our other great programs! |

Leave a Legacy
Making a gift in your will is a very special way of leaving a lasting legacy. By leaving a gift to Scooby North America in your will, you can continue to help us rescue and rehabilitate galgos and podencos long after you're gone. Making a will is straightforward and doesn't affect the rights of your family and loved ones. Leaving a gift to charity can even help your loved ones by reducing the burden of inheritance tax.
To a small charity like us, one single legacy can make the most enormous difference to our work. The sum doesn’t have to be big to have a big impact. We know that legacies are a very personal subject. If you would like to find out more about supporting Scooby and Scooby North America this way, contact info@scoobynorthamerica.org.
